Common questions
Accreditation and insurance FAQs
Are you insured for tree surgery and landscaping?
Yes. KC Landscapes carries £5 million public and products liability insurance, arranged through arboricultural specialists Arborisk, and £10 million employers' liability insurance covering the team on every site.
What tree surgery qualifications do you hold?
City & Guilds NPTC certificates CS30 (chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting), CS31 (felling small trees), CS38 (tree climbing and aerial rescue) and CS39 (aerial chainsaw work), plus IPAF PAL Cards in categories 1b, 3a and 3b for powered access. All tree work is carried out to BS3998.
What is IPAF certification and why does it matter?
IPAF is the recognised UK licence for operating mobile elevating work platforms such as cherry pickers, boom lifts and scissor lifts. It means our team can work at height safely and legally from a platform where climbing a tree is not the right approach, for example over roads, roofs or unstable trees.
Can you provide certificates and insurance documents?
Yes. Insurance schedules, certificates of competence, method statements and risk assessments are available on request for pre-qualification questionnaires, tenders and onboarding. Homeowners are welcome to ask to see them too.
Do you produce risk assessments for each job?
Yes. Site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are produced before work begins on commercial sites, and every job, domestic or commercial, is planned with the same safe working practices.
Are you a registered waste carrier?
Yes. KC Landscapes is an Environment Agency registered waste carrier (registration CBDL575057). 100% of the green waste we produce is recycled into mulch or biomass wherever possible.
